Day Trip
As soon as your plane lands in Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), your representative will greet you with a warm welcome. They're happy to take care of your belongings and take you directly to your Arusha hotel. Arusha has gained fame as the starting point to the Northern Circuit and thus makes a good place to stay before the safari. After checking into your hotel, you will soon meet your safari specialist, who will tell you in detail about the various aspects of the safari, the possible dos and don'ts, and the parks and lodges you are due to visit. This will be a preparation session to ensure that your week is hassle-free and you are ready to the best of your abilities.
Activities: Airport transfer, comprehensive pre-safari briefing.
Accommodation: A comfortable midrange lodge in Arusha.
Meals: Dinner.
Your driver-guide will meet you after you have had some breakfast and spent some time at your hotel. You will start your drive towards Tarangire National Park via a 4x4 Land Cruiser, after which you will start your safari. You will have a full day with game drives, which will include the Tarangire River and the ancient baobab trees, while also enjoying its breathtaking views. Tarangire National Park is very famous for the Tarangire River and Baobab trees, along with its astonishing elephant herds, which you will get to see while bathing and socializing. You will get to the picnic area and will be able to have your lunch there. After you have finished with your lunch, you will continue with your game drive, after which you will be able to get to your lodge. You will have your dinner there and you will also spend the night there.
Activities: Full-day game drive in Tarangire.
Accommodation: A comfortable midrange lodge or tented camp in the Karatu area.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
After breakfast, your next stop is the illustrious Serengeti National Park. The dramatic highlands of Karatu climb first, then plunge into the broad, flat Ngorongoro Conservation Area. There will be time to stop at a village of the Maasai if you wish to. Upon passing through the Naabi Hill Gate into the Serengeti, the scenery instantly turns into the profoundly well-known ‘endless plains’ of the park. On the way to the southeastern Seronera Region, renowned for its high concentration of lions, leopards, and cheetahs, enjoy a game drive. Your Seronera tented camp, right in the center of the country, lets you enjoy a starlight dinner after you check in.
Activities: Transit to Serengeti, optional Maasai Village visit, and afternoon game drive.
Accommodation: A well-located midrange tented camp in the Central Serengeti (Seronera).
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Today, we explore the most important part of your safari, the Serengeti, taking a full day for its exploration. Since there are no long drives, your guide can track the wildlife, moving from the different regions of the central plains. The day starts with a game drive. This is the most important time for observing moving predators. You may go down the Seronera River valley looking for a leopard resting on the bloated branches of a sausage tree, scan the famous granitic kopjes for lion prides, or watch thousands of wildebeest and zebra grazing. You will enjoy the feeling of the heart of the bush when you are taking a picnic lunch. This adventure is expected to last the full day. You will come back to the camp after sunset, experiencing the wonder of one of the most important ecosystems in the world.
Activities: Full-day game drive in Serengeti National Park.
Accommodation: A well-located midrange tented camp in the Central Serengeti (Seronera).
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Just like the previous day, you begin the day with breakfast before you head out on an early morning game drive, this time to explore a new region within the Seronera. Once the morning activities have been wrapped up, you head to a camp for a well-earned mid-day breakfast. After breakfast, you check out the camp and start the long drive to the southeast. Since this is the last game drive you get to enjoy from the Serengeti, you have a good amount of views with the splendid scenery before you head back into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After this, you get to catch to the astonishing Ngorongoro Crater, which is at the rim of the Crater. Your first stop is the safari lodge, which is positioned at the rim of the Crater. From there, you spend the rest of the day relaxing at the elegant lodge.
Activities: Morning game drive in the Serengeti, transit to Ngorongoro.
Accommodation: A midrange safari lodge perched on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Have an early breakfast with a view and descend 600 meters to the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater for 5-6 hour-long game drives to capture stunning pictures and videos. The endless natural bowl and the world’s biggest crater are a UNESCO World Heritage site. Most of the wildlife can be found here, and we hope to see the Big 5. You will get a chance to see a wide range of species, such as a black rhino, flamingos, the great prides of lions, bull elephants, and massive herds of buffalo, while exploring the emerald of the world. You will enjoy a picnic lunch while relaxing at the Ngoitokitok Springs. You will return to camp through the Karatu area of the crater, known for its many elephants. Having spent a final night in the Karatu lodge, we will return home from the safari.
Activities: 5-6 hour game drive on the Ngorongoro Crater floor.
Accommodation: A comfortable midrange lodge or tented camp in the Karatu area.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
For the last day of the safari, your schedule includes a relaxing breakfast followed by a drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Here, you can observe the trees, the shallow soda lake, and the diverse array of birds as you look for the troops of baboons and blue monkeys. The park is also famous for its tree-climbing lions which your guide will be scouting for amongst the acacias. During the early afternoon, you will leave the park and start the drive back to Arusha. From there, your guide will drop you off at your hotel, or you will be driven to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight.
