6 Day Tanzania Camp Safari
Spend 5 nights / 6 days traversing through Tanzania’s famed Northern Safari Circuit which includes the famous Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater, among others. This camp safari promises not only unforgettable wildlife encounters but also a deep appreciation for the rich cultural tapestry that defines Tanzania’s heritage.
Day 1
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be met by staff from Active Kilitop and Safaris and transported to your hotel in Arusha (ILBoru Safari Lodge). Dinner at ILBoru Safari Lodge
Day 2
After breakfast at ILBoru Safari Lodge you will be picked up by Active Kilitop and Safaris’ crew in comfortable, well modified Land Cruisers. You are guaranteed a window seat to maximise your game viewing experience. Your safari will begin in Lake Manyara National Park, about 3 hours’ drive from Arusha. Lake Manyara National Park will provide you with an opportunity to see big herds of elephants and zebras, as well as myriad bird species at the lake itself. You may be lucky enough to spot the famed tree-climbing lions that call this national park their home. You will have the opportunity to enjoy a packed picnic lunch before moving on. After the game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, you will be driven to your accommodation for the night, a luxury seasonal camp in Ngorongoro, Misigyo Camp. Arriving in the early evening you will be welcomed by the local Maasai chief from the village nearby and after checking into your tents, be treated to Maasai dancing. Dinner at Misigyo Camp
Day 3
After an early breakfast at the luxury Misigyo Camp, you will embark upon a full day game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater. The crater’s natural amphitheatre showcases a stunning array of wildlife including elephants, lions, zebras, wildebeest and a plethora of bird species. You will be treated to a panoramic view from your safari vehicle of the lush grasslands and shimmering soda lake at the crater’s centre. Your knowledgeable guides will share captivating insights into the behaviour and ecology of the inhabitants of the ancient volcanic caldera. You will be treated to a packed lunch at the picnic site within the crater. Back at camp in the evening, you will once again be given the opportunity to observe Maasai culture and even get to participate in certain activities. Dinner at Misigyo Camp
Day 4
You will be checking out of Misigyo Camp after breakfast as it’ll be time to head towards the Serengeti National Park. You will get ample opportunity to game view along the way to your campsite in the Serengeti, Pembezoni Camp, where you’ll be welcomed by the camp manager and checked into your tent before sipping drinks around the fire while waiting for dinner to be served. Dinner at Pembezoni Camp
Day 5
Another early start to the day and the staff at Pembezoni Camp will be ready with a sumptuous breakfast to fortify you for your full day game drive in the Serengeti. This will be a true odyssey through one of Africa’s most iconic landscapes. Along the way you will have the opportunity to encounter some of the Serengeti’s legendary inhabitants such as the wildebeest, whose timeless migration across the vast grasslands enthral all who are fortunate enough to witness the spectacle. A moment of respite is offered as you savour your packed picnic lunch before embarking on yet another foray into the wild acacia studded plains in search of the elusive predators such as lion and leopard. After a full day drive you will be welcomed back at camp with a drink around the fire and a delicious dinner. Dinner at Pembezoni Camp
Day 6
This is the last day of your Tanzania camp safari and after breakfast at Pembezoni Camp you will be saying farewell to the Serengeti and heading back to Arusha where you’ll get the opportunity to do some shopping before lunch at Moloni Café. After lunch you will be taken to Kia Lodge where day rooms are reserved for you to shower and repack. An early dinner will be served before you are transferred to the airport to fly back home.
